I have previously looked at this hotel (see link below), but I am fascinated by the rapid revival of the Radisson Edwardian brand and their recent massive investment in their properties. Design has been very strongly directed by Michael Attenborough (see the link to a video interview with him at the end of this article)and Amrit Singh and their idiosyncratic design style is turning Radisson Edwardian into a high quality boutique chain. Given the frustration of Kurt Ritter that he is unable to bring his Radisson Blu brand inside the M25 one wonders why he doesn't buy Edwardian rather than persisting with his fashion house approach to creating his own boutique brand.
Meanwhile as they start the major refurbishment of their Heathrow property Radisson Edwardian show no signs of slowing down their programme, and nor does Michael Attenborough show any signs of losing his touch with the interiors. Bloomsbury like many of the older London hotels, has had an additional floor added to create extra space. However rather than increasing the number of bedrooms (they have added just one) Radisson Edwardian have used the space released to replan the whole building and to increase the size of bedrooms and bathrooms where appropriate. Although some rooms are still small, in general the rooms offer generous space and push at the five star standard.
