In the bedrooms the lack of space has been combated by the redesign of the wardrobe unit, still in the brand bright green. Strangely they have ended up with a unit not a million miles away from the units previously shown in the Big Sleep in Eastbourne, another smaller competitor in this busy budget branded hotel sector. The refurbishment manages to keep both the trademark bed unit and the large and sensibly designed work desk ( sockets positioned for easy access, good task light etc.).
The bathroom has been updated and retiled and generally again reflects the standards seen elsewhere in the NG styling. The whole is clean and efficient whilst keeping most of the style seen in Northampton.
Sternlicht is showing again the stylish touch in generating his new hotels as he has done previously in reworking the Four Point and Sheraton brands as well as in his invention of the 'W', the cause of so much headache for Hilton and pushing Rezidor down the fashion route with their new Missoni. I wait eagerly to see where he goes next now he has 1,000 hotels and 85,000 bedrooms to play with, and what new challenges he has planned for those running other groups.
