With over 20,000 original designs from the Stoddard archives within Lano Flooring Solutions’ library, the owners of the Cumberland Hotel worked closely with Joseph Etches, Director of Bournemouth-based contractor Grosvenor Carpets and the manufacturer to select a pattern from the library that reflected the art deco feel of the hotel. However, conscious of ensuring the hotel met with contemporary tastes, the owner selected a black and grey colourway to provide harmony between the traditional and modern.

The two colours were selected from Lano’s standard 16 strong palette that frees specifiers to adapt stock designs in a colour scheme to fit their interior without a premium on installations of 100m2 or above.

With an 80% wool and 20% nylon construction and using a high quality three-ply yarn for resilience and longevity, the four-metre wide Walk of Fame axminster carpet at the Cumberland Hotel will provide service and a welcome ambience for staff and visitors for years to come.

With such an intricate pattern, varied locations and areas such as the ballroom needing the skills of both manufacturer and installer to accommodate a circular dance floor, the woven axminster at the Cumberland Hotel, demonstrates the potential of Lano Flooring Solutions’ Walk of Fame collection.
