Despite the size of the hotel there is a surprising feeling of intimacy to many areas of the public spaces, and the low rise nature of the building also creates a similar illusion of a smaller scale in the bedroom provision. The bedrooms are to be refurbished shortly (currently it is the spa and gym provision that is being redone) but the rooms are still very presentable.
Good quality housekeeping can add years to the life of an interior especially when allied, as here,to good maintenance by a maintenance crew led by the same people for many years. The in-depth knowledge of the building has enabled this team to ensure the quality of the rooms is still very high.

Well soundproofed, it is not possible to hear aircraft when in the rooms. Soundproofed for the runways the effect is to also remove the road noise that is otherwise the curse of many hotels, presenting rooms that are very quiet indeed – so much so that it is possible in the mornings to hear the vacuum cleaners of the housekeepers in adjacent rooms in the mornings.

The hotel has two business areas – a lounge on an upper floor with views across the airfield, and a business centre on the ground floor with a bank of internet linked computers for guest use, although the now required Wi-Fi provision is made throughout the hotel. For the business traveller the large desk in the room will also be a delight.
With the additional 'park and fly' package that most hotels at Heathrow offer, this hotel captures incoming and outgoing tourists, aircrew as well as business traffic and conference delgates. The only suprise is that it remains, after some thirty years, one of the largest of hotels at Heathrow.
